With the festive season fast approaching, many of us will be going through the list of people we need to shop for and making sure we have a few ideas in hand for them.

Most of our blogs are designed for people who love the van life or who are considering getting into it.  This time we thought we’d do something a little different, and offer some ideas you might want to provide to that person in your life who loves their campervan.

Metal Cafetieres or Teapots

Which of these you want to pick will absolutely depend on which drink your loved one prefers, but the robust modern metal models have a huge advantage over glass or ceramic – they don’t break nearly so easily!

If they’re a real coffee purist, consider throwing in a portable coffee grinder too – a really elevated coffee experience without leaving the van will become a memory for sure.

Van Levellers

Surprisingly affordable, van levellers are a great addition to the kit of anyone who does wild camping, or who might fetch up somewhere for the night and discover the ground is uneven.

A Hammock

A good campervan is a great place to spend the night indoors, especially if it was professionally converted, so this isn’t so much for sleeping as it is a way to enjoy a sunny afternoon while parked up. Hammocks can be suspended between the van and a nearby tree and give you a great place to relax in warm weather.

A Modern Camping Lantern

Again, the campervan itself should have good internal lighting (ours certainly do), but you’d be surprised how often you’re in and out of the van around twilight, especially on spring or autumn trips where the light dwindles over time. Having a portable camping lantern makes that so much easier, and it extends how long you can sit outside if you’re enjoying the evening.

A USB-Chargeable Tap

Footpump taps used to be the standard, but now you can get a steady water flow at the touch of a button for a low price. On Amazon these items are stocking fillers, but while you might need to explain why you bought it, we’re sure they’ll be delighted once they have it. For added effect, pair this with a first aid kit and a multitool as a ‘practical care package’.

And, of course…

Travel Guides

We think of these as being the equivalent of giving a foodie a new recipe book – they’re an inspiration for future trips and a way to fire the imagination. Maybe you could give them a book on somewhere you’d love to go, and on the way there you’ll get a chance to see why they love the van life!
