Last week, one of the team was on the phone with a potential customer. She eventually decided that a Renault Trafic campervan conversion was right for her, but what stood out about the call was her surprise that we’re as tightly focused on the models of van we convert as we are. It all comes down to our belief that our customers deserve the most reliable campervan conversions we can build them – and that requires a reliable base van.
As well as the Renault Trafic we also convert Ford Transit campervans and Volkswagen Transporter campervans. We chose those three vehicles because they can be depended on.
Ford Transit Campervans: Reliable
When Ford boast in their adverts that the Transit is the most popular van in Britain, it’s hard to argue against them. Certainly long-term, no other make of van has had the same staying power. While there have been models which had issues over the years, the general consensus is that the Transit can be depended on to get you where you’re going.
They can handle the kind of loads delivery businesses put on them, which means that a typical Escape Campers campervan loadout – where we give you all the comforts of home but also aim to give you enough space to play with – is easy.
While a lot of home campervan conversions use older Transits, we source ours new. We want to make sure any vehicle we sell can be depended on to get you where you’re going without worrying about it, and we also want to be sure you can keep using it for as long as possible, whether you buy from us or through our dealer network.
Rely on Renault
Over the past five years, Renault Trafic models have built up a reputation for reliability – but they’re also known for being easy to fix when issues do occur. This means you can have full peace of mind, knowing that even if something does go wrong, it should be easy to be put right.
Renault’s own recommendation is that you can go up to two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, between servicing. Of course, most campervan aficionados will probably reach 25,000 miles well within two years!
Trust the Volkswagen Transporter
Our third brand of choice is another one with a record for reliability and high performance. Transporters often build up very high mileage and they do so without complaining, just as you’d expect from the spiritual successor to the incredibly long-lasting original VW campervan.
